JANE Logic is a York-based small business systems shop, founded by a mechanical engineer. We work the way engineers do: find the real problem, measure it, then build the simplest thing that fixes it. Sometimes that’s a better spreadsheet. Sometimes it’s a custom web app.
We don’t push subscriptions or lock you in. We start with what you already have, and we only build bigger when it saves you more than it costs.

Common questions
Spreadsheet or web app: how do I know which I need?
Most jobs start as a spreadsheet, and that’s often all you need. A custom web app makes sense when several people need to use it at once, your crew needs it on their phones, or the spreadsheet keeps breaking because it’s doing too much. We’ll tell you honestly which one fits.
How much does it cost?
The first 20-minute look is free. After that, every project gets one fixed price, in writing, before any work starts. If a web app has any running costs, like hosting, we tell you up front.
We already use QuickBooks, Square or other software. Can you still help?
Yes. Most businesses still export from those into a spreadsheet to answer questions the software won’t. That export is usually where we help: turning it into the report or list you actually use.
Who owns what you build?
You do. Spreadsheets live in your account. For web apps, we agree in writing up front who owns what and what happens if you ever want to move it, so there are no surprises.
What about my data?
Your files stay in your accounts. We only look at what’s needed for the project, and we never sell or share your information.
